Questions

Everything we get asked, answered first.

Wait — you don't bring the alcohol?
Correct. Shaken, Not Stirred is a dry-hire mobile bar service: you (or your venue) supply the spirits, wine, and beer. We bring the bar, the bartenders, the craft, and everything else — glassware, mixers, garnishes, ice, fresh juices, syrups, the works. This model keeps your cost down (you can buy your own alcohol at retail or Costco prices instead of paying venue markups) and keeps everything legally clean — we hold the pouring license and liability insurance; you own the inventory.
What does each package include?
Every package includes mobile bar setup + breakdown, professional bartenders, complete bar tools, all glassware, mixers, garnishes, fresh juices, ice, and liability insurance. Larger packages add bartenders, signature cocktail design, and a pre-event consultation. See the packages section above for the full per-tier breakdown — we publish what's in each tier so you can self-qualify before reaching out.
Do you travel? What about travel fees?
We serve Lake Tahoe (both California and Nevada sides), Reno, Truckee, and the Carson Valley as our core area — no travel fee within that range. Events further afield (Mammoth, Sacramento, Yosemite area) are absolutely doable; we'll quote a travel + lodging fee separately during your consultation.
How does booking work? How fast do you respond?
Fill out the inquiry form below — it takes about 60 seconds. Stacey personally responds within 24 hours (usually same-day) via text and email. If your date is open, we'll send a contract and lock your event with a 35% non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance is due 14 days before your event.
What about insurance and licensing?
We carry full liability insurance ($1M general liability) and hold the pouring license required for dry-hire mobile bar service in Nevada and California. We'll provide a certificate of insurance for your venue ahead of the event — most venues request one as standard, and we have the paperwork ready.
Can you design signature cocktails for our event?
Yes — that's one of our favorite parts. We'll talk through the vibe, your love story (for weddings) or company brand (for corporate), and any cocktails you already love. We'll suggest 2–4 signatures, tweak them to your taste, print menus, and have them ready when your guests arrive. Stacey has 20+ years of hospitality experience and a deep cocktail library to draw from.
What's the minimum and maximum event size you take?
Minimum is intimate — we'll do a 20-person backyard celebration. Maximum on a single bar with our standard setup is around 150 guests; for larger events (200+) we'll deploy multiple bartenders and additional bar stations. Reach out with your specifics — almost everything is doable with enough planning lead time.
How far in advance should I book?
For weddings (May–October especially), 6–9 months ahead is ideal. For corporate events and private parties, 4–8 weeks is usually plenty. If your event is sooner — even within the next two weeks — still ask; we can sometimes accommodate short notice, especially in shoulder season.
